About Me. I was born and raised in the United Kingdom but have lived in many countries. In 1996 we came to the USA on a 2 year assignment, and liked it enough to stay longer. This is now our permanent home. I have lived in Florida for a year but I was not happy there so we came back to Barrington. Once my kids were in high school it was time to do what I have wanted to do for a long time, be a real estate agent. I started about 5 years ago as an agent and now have my brokers license and own my own independent real estate brokerage.
As a Realtor I abide by our code of ethics but my biggest strength comes from my high moral standards. I was raised in a fairly strict environment and was taught only to treat people how you would accept people to treat you, honestly and fairly. People should treat others fairly and with respect both in business and personal life. As a person I am generally an easy going girl and take most issues in my stride. I do not believe that aggression is necessary in any aspect of our lives. We have such a little amount of time on this planet, we need to relax and enjoy the time we have with family, friends and be fair and honest with our business associates.
My Real Estate Business
I am Broker/Owner of my own independent real estate office in Barrington, we are Royal Advocate Realty. My philosophy for the company is that it is the agent that is servicing the client. It does not matter which company an agent hangs their license with, how pretty or well known their logo or brand name is; all that matters to you the client is whether the agent is providing the best possible service they can. Barrington & Deer Park Illinois Real Estate
Barrington IL Real Estate, Deer Park IL Real Estate. Bringing buyers and sellers together for over 5 years in Barrington and Deer Park Illinois. Our area has over 75 square miles of real estate divided into 9 villages, Barrington, Lake Barrington, South Barrington, North Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Tower Lakes, Inverness (part) and Port Barrington.
Luxury Homes. You'll find luxury homes in many parts of Barrington but South Barrington has always been considered the most luxurious. Looking for a custom build? There are still plenty of vacant lots and locals well known builders to build the home of your dreams.
Lake Barrington Shores. One of the largest complexes around, Lake Barrington Shores has over 1300 units located around a large lake and golf course, all in a gated community. A great place to downsize to!

If you are relocating to Illinois consider Barrington as a great place to live. We have excellent schools and are close to many of the high employment areas like Schaumburg, Arlington Heights and of course Chicago is an easy commute by road or train. I can also help with Lake Zurich, Palatine, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods and Long Grove as similar but alternative villages to buy a home in.
Foreclosures. Barrington as a whole still has a relatively low incidence of foreclosures. If you are in the market to buy a foreclosure in Barrington, Deer Park or Inverness, please do not expect there to be a huge choice available. They are few and far between and most are priced to sell. Low ball offers will likely get thrown out, as recent clients have found out. Remember that banks know what a proprty is worth in good or bad condition and have priced them accordingly. If you think they are desperate to unload the property, think again. They still represent a good opportunity to get a well priced home and many only require cosmetic work to bring back to great condition.
Short Sales. Even in Barrington these are on the rise, but again not a high volume of our transactions are short sales. If you are considering buying a short sale home make sure you get all the information you need to be able to make an informed decision about putting in an offer. It can take months to get an answer from the bank concerned. Again homes are generally priced to attract offers, so low ball offers may not even make it past the seller. Short sales are a complex situation and have many facets both from the selling perspective and for buyers.
Selling a Short Sale Home. If you need to sell as a short sale be sure to hire the right agent. I have seen so many owners in financial difficulty that hire an agent and still price the home way above market value. This sadly happened on my own subdivision and my neighbors lost their home to foreclosure. Of course if you are not really committed to making a short sale happen, then listing your home is a waste of time. I have a team that will work as hard as possible to bring you the seller, your bank and a buyer together to make it happen.
Sellers, my specialist is internet exposure. I work only with sellers that will help me sell their home. Many sellers are still not realistic about price or property condition and this is critical in getting your home sold. I make it my business to get homes seen by as many people as possible. Using photos, virtual tours and many web sites, I want your home seen by as many buyers as possible to get your home sold. I get a lot of traffic on my web sites especially for the Barrington and Lake Zurich areas. Many visitors reach my sites as a result of my Barrington Blogs.
